CI Summer Intensive Ulli Wittemann
Three weeks of focused training for dancers with a solid base in CI
We are very excited to invite you to the first edition of Ulli Wittemanns CI SUMMER INTENSIVE in Portugal. Here you have the chance to dive really deep into the form of Contact Improvisation, going for three weeks of ongoing practice and intense training with a very experienced teacher in a group of dedicated dancers.
We will feed our bodies with a lot of technical tools and tricks, engage our mind longing for a deeper understanding of what we are doing when we are dancing CI and inhabiting a human body. And yes, we will nourish our soul, craving for an environment of heart-open like-minded humans, where artistic expression is just as important as fresh air, healthy food and sunlight.
We will start with the floor, connecting with gravity and our breath and inviting a deep listening as a base of contact from body to body.
From Floor Work to Shoulder Lifts, engaging in discussions and watching videos, working extensively in the studio and use the nature as a landscape to immerse ourselves… losing ourselves for finding something new. Together.
Some of the themes and questions to be researched will be
What is this? / What are we doing when we practise/dance CI?
How can we use our body in the most efficient and smooth way in solo, duet, trio and group scenarios?
What is MY DANCE?
In which way is CI political? Is it…?
How do we deal with boundaries and consent, now in 2023?
The ME and the WE in our Dance
How does my social programming influence my dancing?
What do I enjoy?
What hinders me?
Is it “okay” to mix CI with other forms?
What are the ingredients for those “magic moments”?

Arrival
Closest Airport is Faro by taxi it takes about 25 minutes and costs are 30-40€. There is also a train from Faro central station to Tavira (3-4€) and from there you would need to take a taxi, costing 8-10€. Exact location we will send you after registration.
Surrounding
We recommend to bring your car if you have one. We are about 15 min drive from the ocean. And only 5 min walk to little sweet village with ATM, Cafe, Shop, Postoffice.
WIFI
There is WIFI Internet, but its slow! Use this days to live the new luxury of being UNPLUGGED and RELAXE completely.
Food
Our wonderfully international team of chefs prepare Mediterranean vegetarian dishes with love and taste. We buy organic food from local farmers as much as possible.

The price consists of two parts –
1. the fee for the INTENSIVE program with Ulli
990 € for the first ten spots
1.200 € for the rest of the spots
the INTENSIVE is limited to 24 participants
2. Accommodation & Food at Quinta Braz

+ 1290€ DZ/ Doppelzimmer = Double Room in the House with shared bathroom
+ 1248€ 3er Zimmer = Triple Room in the House with shared bathroom
+ 1150€ Bell Tent with mattress Single (alone) or 1000€ Double (with another person) on the venue with shared shower & toilet
+. 850€ in your own tent or in your campervan with shared shower & toilet
The two prices contain the full program, accommodation, vegetarian food (three meals per day), water all day long and the use of the swimming pool
Discount:
We are open for HELPERS, MUSICIANS and an EMOTIONAL SUPPORT Team. We can offer discounted spots for two helpers and two musicians for each event – write us if you are interested in one of these positions.
We also wish to build a team of two people supporting the emotional journey of the group – feel free to apply if you have a background for example as a psychologist/therapist or a similar qualification.
