We invite you to join us for a week immersed in Movement and Nature.
In this workshop, we explore how our practice of contact improvisation can grow when we connect our physical intelligence and poetic sensibilities. This connection allows us to sense ourselves, others, and the environment as we meet the physical demands of the moment.
Chris and Angie are sought-after teachers of contact improvisation and other contemporary dance practices. For more than thirty years they have offered workshops and training intensives internationally including featured artists at the Freiburg International Festival, Impulstanz (AUS), Movement Research (NYC), Earthdance (USA), iDance (Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Japan), American Dance Festival (USA) and many others. They are known for their collaborative spirit, technical skill, and generous teaching.
Workshop Content
In the workshop, we engage our compositional minds which considers things like timing, proximity, distance, effort, stillness, musicality, and the overall syntax of our movements. We keep the physical principles of contact improvisation at the center of our work – how we move and support ourselves and one another through improvisation. In this workshop, we will explore ways of using dance improvisation to invigorate our partnering skills and to develop ways of engaging in ensemble thinking and practice.

Arrival
Closest Airport is Faro by taxi it takes about 25 minutes and costs are 30-40€. There is also a train from Faro central station to Tavira (3-4€) and from there you would need to take a taxi, costing 8-10€. Exact location we will send you after registration.
Surrounding
We recommend to bring your car if you have one. We are about 15 min drive from the ocean. And only 5 min walk to little sweet village with ATM, Cafe, Shop, Postoffice.
WIFI
There is WIFI Internet, but its slow! Use this days to live the new luxury of being UNPLUGGED and RELAXE completely.
Food
Our wonderfully international team of chefs prepare Mediterranean vegetarian dishes with love and taste. We buy organic food from local farmers as much as possible.
