Josefina Bustillo

Contact Teacher

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Visual artist, yoga practitioner, movement researcher and seasoned gardener. Josefina has been dedicated to Contact Improvisation for over fourteen years. She has trained with several masters and teachers, such as Ray Chung, Cristina Turdo, Violeta Lubarsky, Lucía Bertone, José Villa, Gustavo Lecce, Eliana Bonard, Lior Ophir, Gabriel Forestieri, Gabriel Greca, Iván Baucia, Autarco Arfini and Gabriela Morales, among others.

Influenced by Authentic Movement and Theravada Buddhism, her research focuses on cultivating inner connection as a foundation for relating to space and to others. She integrates her knowledge of nervous system functioning by placing particular emphasis on creating a safe working environment, understood as a fundamental condition for embodied and relational research.

Josefina produces and organizes gatherings and urban interventions and has collaborated at festivals such as Transformando por la Práctica. She is the creator of MACI (Marathon of Contact Improvisation): a self-managed and itinerant project whose purpose is to strengthen the network of practitioners. In addition to designing Contact Improvisation encounters, MACI promotes writing as a space for reflecting on the practice. The project includes three published fanzines; the most recent, released in 2026, celebrates ten years of its trajectory.
